Who are we and what does it mean for you?

Egia means “truth” in Basque, which reflects the open, honest and collaborative way we like to work. For charities, this means that we help them find clarity in their finances, but that is only the beginning. A key part of who we are and what we stand for is putting purpose over profit. That´s a big reason why we work largely with Charities and Not for Profit Organisations. 

 

As firm believers in marginal gains, we are completely committed to sustainability. For our clients, this means we help them make small changes that build over time so they can reach their goals (both business and personal). For us, this means giving and providing to more sustainable projects and working towards building a B-Corp accountancy practice. As a B1G1 Business for Good, we incorporate purpose and meaning into our business through giving. This means that for every transaction our clients make with us, an impact is being made.

A big part of our purpose is to provide our clients with value-added services to give them time, clarity and support. We give you time by using technology and a tailored approach to streamline your processes. We give you clarity by giving you the right financial information to support decision-making and drive your business forward. And last but not least, we give you support either as part of your existing finance team or as your fully outsourced finance department.

Hannah Flook

Hannah Flook

Director

A mother of three young boys and an experienced Finance Director with a passion for nature, Hannah helps clients gain control over their financial systems and processes.

After qualifying as a Chartered Accountant (ICAS) and spending 11 years in practice and corporate banking and finance, Hannah knew she wanted to help small businesses and charities with their financial needs, but in a smaller, more bespoke setting.

And so Egia Financial was born.

Account Manager

Carlean has the ultimate personal touch. Not only is she approachable and kind, and builds a fantastic rapport with every client she meets, but she has over 14 years’ worth of experience working with a wide range of clients and building a wealth of knowledge in both personal and company tax. 

Carlean enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking regular holidays in the Lake District to go walking, cycling, and camping in her bespoke-built campervan. 

Judi Johnston

Judi Johnston

VA to Director

Judi is the backbone of the organisation and helps to keep the ship afloat on a day-to-day basis. With her 35+ years of experience working mainly in the finance sector in London, she is able to whip the team into shape while making sure that Egia is running as smoothly as possible.

Since relocating to Scotland nearly 18 years ago, Judi is now a virtual assistant.  She is married with two children and a sausage dog. When she´s not working, she likes to spend her time watching Netflix thrillers, looking after her mum, and walking the dog on the beach – if the weather permits!

Gabriela Toplicianu

Gabriela Toplicianu

Finance Officer

Gabriela is a seasoned accountant with over 12 years of experience, handling Egia’s financial reporting, grant management, and cash flow. She is passionate about Egia’s charitable mission and excels in transactional and report analysis, with expertise in budget preparation and financial reporting.

In her free time, Gabriela enjoys hiking, especially on sunny days, and has a passion for creating natural products like moisturisers and soaps.

  

Jess Polson

Jess Polson

Finance Assistant

A huge asset to the team and utterly reliable, Jess is known for getting any job done efficiently and accurately when asked. She has an interesting background from studying maths at Heriot-Watt University to her internship with a church, all of which developed her love of Finance. And since has worked in the finance team for various charities, gaining a lot of experience.  

While she has been working with Egia Financial, Jess has completed a course in the Fundamentals of Accountancy. However, she also loves to read, and crochet, and is a self-proclaimed Netflix addict!

Priya Jain

Priya Jain

Management Accountant

Priya brings a broad range of experience across finance functions. She’s passionate about transforming numbers into meaningful insights – presenting data in ways that are both clear and creative.

Whether it’s delivering reports or improving processes, Priya approaches every task with energy, precision, and a keen eye for smart solutions.

Outside of work, she’s an explorer of places, food, and ideas. She loves painting, cooking, enjoying lighthearted films, and meeting new people.

Known for her positivity and creativity, Priya believes great work (and life!) happens when you’re both passionate and people-focused.
